Therefore, we have partnered with Kiva, the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website. Founded in 2005 and based in San Francisco, their mission is to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. By working with microfinance institutions around the world, they are able to provide loans to those without access to traditional banking systems.
Kiva has provided financial assistance of $1.25B to third world countries and poverty-stricken areas, in 81 countries, and 3.1M borrowers with a 96.9% repayment rate.
Red Kite is proud to be part of the grassroots effort to rebuild the world economy – one small business at a time.
